Immersed in one of the most suggestive lagoons of the Maldives, Gangehi Island Resort, opened in 2008, offers an exclusive experience. The island is a small paradise of lush plants and an architecture that makes extensive use of ancient and precious woods. Gangehi, is surrounded by two beaches, one, a shaped tongue of sand is famous in all Maldives because during low tide it extends to over 800 meters letting you enjoy long romantic walks. The Gangehi lagoon, is regularly visited by splendid Whale Sharks in addition of course to mantas and other tropical fish. The 20 Beach Bungalows and 16 Over Water rooms offer ample space featuring a blend of antique and contemporary furnishings. The Resort has two restaurants, two bars and room service offering custom dinners. One restaurant features Italian food whilst the lagoon restaurant, offers Asian cuisine. The resort offers a Padi 5 Star Dive Center, a fitness room in addition to many water sports and excursions as well as a library and a furnished boutique. Veli restaurant

The main restaurant overlooking the sea and the beach presents delicious Italian specialities, Oriental, international cuisine, live grill and cooking station. Serves buffet style breakfast, lunch and dinner. For private and romantic dinners, seafood menus including fresh lobsters may be reserved at an extra charge.

Kandu bar

Activities

Giving that 90% of the country consists of sparkling Blue Ocean, it is not surprising that most of the sports on offer at Gangehi take place either on or below the sea. The resort boasts a beautiful white sandy beach that encircles most of the island.

The beach is equipped with straw covered umbrellas and loungers for sun bathing. All activities on the island respect the guests’ privacy: you will be in one of the last paradises on earth where nothing is out of place.

And everyday you will be able to choose from amongst numerous activities suggested by our staff.

SNORKELING

There is a stunning house reef which can be easily reached from the shore. Daily the Resort offers a free snorkeling tour guided by the resident marine biologist.

Coconut palms and white beaches frame the luxurious structure which consists of four original antique wooden cottages transported from Kerala, the cradle of Ayurveda. Antique furniture and décor, candle Light, Oriental music and mysterious aromas are part of the unique experience. Our massages and Ayurvedic treatments are well known in Maldives and range from ease to tension and relaxation to energizing treatments or original Ayurvedic experiences. Several times a year we do organize Ayurvedic seminars under the supervision of renowned doctors. Beauty treatments will be tailored to your skin type. We also offer treatment packages spread over the duration of your stay. In the early evening hours, guests are invited to join our certified Yoga teacher in the courtyard of the Spa to practice total relaxation thru breathing and stretching exercises.
